Day by Day Overview
Meet your safari guide and leave Entebbe/Kampala in the morning for your Uganda safari. Head to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, arriving in time for lunch in the sanctuary before having a walk to see the rhinos up close. After rhino trekking spend the evening at the lodge.
After breakfast you set off for the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Be there around lunch time after which it’s time to experience the top of the stunning Murchison Falls. It’s an amazing feeling to stand at the top enjoying the breathtaking view and hearing the water roar. Have a relaxed evening at the lodge.
Get up early in the morning to meet the animals of the savanna. During this morning game drive you will see giraffes, elephants, lions and more. In the afternoon it is time for a boat cruise on the mighty Nile spotting hippos, crocodiles and birds on the shores. Spend the night in Budongo Forest (part of Murchison Falls) to get close to the jungle.
Have a relaxed breakfast and soak in the beautiful jungle surroundings. After breakfast your guide take you to the town of Hoim, one of the large twns in western Uganda. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel or exploring the town.
Be prepared for a long day in the car with a stop in a village en route to stretch your legs. Take in the scenic tea plantations and Ugandan countryside passing by the window. Stopover in Fort Portal town, the first cleanest town in Uganda.
Be woken up by the sounds of the jungle and get ready for your chimp trekking experience. Your guide takes you to the starting point and you set off in to the beautiful jungle to see the chimpanzees. After the chimp trekking your guide meets you and takes you to the lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Wake up early in the morning for a game drive in the Kasenyi part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you have the chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of birds and much more. After lunch your guide takes you to the afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This two hour boat ride is a great highlight looking out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.
Head off to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning. The drive is along an adventurous road and you have the chance of seeing baboons and elephants along the way. In Ishasha you find topis, buffaloes and search for the tree-climbing lions. The lions in this area are famous for climbing up great fig trees to take a rest. After finishing your game drive, the journey continues to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy the changing landscape as the drive slowly climbs up towards the misty mountains of the gorillas.
In the morning you will set off for the highlight of your Uganda safari; the gorilla trekking day. Your guide will take you to the starting point of the gorilla trekking in the morning and you set of on your adventure. The trek takes you through the jungle up to the point where the gorillas are located and you get to spend one hour with them. When you are back from the gorilla trekking your guide takes you to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.
Have a free day by Lake Bunyonyi where you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the lake is free of hippos, crocodiles and bilharzia), go for a hike or just relax with a book. Here you can have a walk and visit locals to experience a taste of local culture.
After breakfast you start off with your guide towards Lake Mburo National Park. A landscape of rolling green hills will pass by the windows before you reach the town of Mbarara for lunch and then continue to the lodge in Lake Mburo National Park where you enjoy a relaxed evening.
Start the day early with a safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park. Experience being one with nature as you see the animals close by during the walk. Have breakfast at the lodge and relax a bit before lunch. After lunch in the afternoon it is time for your game drive in the park where you can see impalas, zebras and much more. Return to the lodge to enjoy your last evening in Uganda’s national parks.
Have a relaxed breakfast and then start the journey to Kampala. Make a stop along the way for lunch at the Equator and take the chance to stand with one foot on either side on the southern and northern hemisphere. After the last part of the drive to Kampala your guide takes you to the hotel for a relaxed afternoon/evening.
Go for a city tour of Kampala before heading to Entebbe for your flight. The city tour can be adapted to your interests of crafts shopping, cultural sights or community tourism. The length of the city tour depends on your flight time and your guide will transfer you to Entebbe in time for check-in.
