Day by Day Overview
After collection from the airport, we shall transfer you to Pioneer Camp, based on the east side of Lusaka. You shall be accommodated here in the Miombo chalets, on a B&B basis.
We shall depart early for the iconic South Luangwa National Park. On arrival at Flatdogs Camp there will be time to freshen up and possibly the option to head out on an afternoon game drive finished off with sundowner drinks on the river. If, however, after the long drive you do not want to get onto another vehicle, you can rest in camp and watch overt the river from there. Flatdogs Camp is situated on the banks of the Luangwa River, on the border of the South Luangwa National Park which is one of the last great wildlife wonders of the world. It is nine thousand square kilometers (3,475 square miles) of pristine wilderness. The South Luangwa NP has been visited by wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world since its creation in 1972.
The next day here shall be spent exploring the region of South Luangwa N.P. Morning activities typically depart around 05.30 and return late morning. The afternoon/evening game drive leaves after high tea, which is served at 15.30.
On the following day, you shall embark on a full day game drive around the Nsefu region. We will arrange packed food and refreshments for you.
After an early breakfast, you will depart Flatdogs and drive to Pioneer Camp. The drive will take around 9 hours.
We will leave Lusaka and head to the Lower Zambezi. You shall be camping here at Mvuu Lodge’s camp ground. We will book you onto a boat cruise on the afternoon of your arrival. The next two days shall be full day game drives, in the park in your private vehicle. You will likely return to camp each day around sundown or before if you wish to return earlier. The Lower Zambezi is a magic region, boasting extremely beautiful scenes and an abundance of game.
You will be collected from the gate of Lower Zambezi National Park after your final game drive and transferred to Tsika Island by boat. The first afternoon can be spent relaxing in camp. The following day, you will enjoy a full day boat cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, returning to camp in the late afternoon to feast and sit by the fire.
After a casual start to the day, we will have breakfast and transfer you back to the main land by boat. We will then begin the drive to Livingstone, which should take around 7.5 hours. We have booked you into Maramba River Lodge for your time here, its well situated out of town. Included is a visit to the magnificent Victoria Falls. There are many other activities you can choose to do around Livingstone. We have left the last two days free of any commitments so you may choose how you spend your time.
We shall drop you to either Livingstone International Airport or Lusaka.
