This safari adventure will take you to Uganda’s famous and most visited national parks. You will start your journey in Murchison Falls National Park including a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and the magnificent Murchison waterfalls. Continue to the home of chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park for the rare tree climbing lions and Kazinga Channel, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park which is a home to the endangered species of mountain gorillas, Lake Bunyonyi which is the second deepest lake in Africa and end with Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest park.

Day by Day Overview
Arrive at Entebbe international Airport. Pick up by your driver guide and transfer to your hotel. Upon reaching at the hotel, you will be briefed about your safari and in case you have any questions, please feel free to ask the guide. Overnight at Boma Guest House. Bed and Breakfast.

Morning breakfast at the hotel. Pick up by your driver guide and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. En route stop over at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking and lunch. After this activity, continue with your journey to Murchison Falls. Visit the top of the falls and later transfer to your Lodge. Overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge. Full Board

Early morning rise before breakfast and set out for the game drive. Murchison Falls National Park is home to the Big 5 animals of Uganda with the exception of the rhinos which can be seen en route to the park. On this game drive look out for animals like the elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffe as well as several antelopes and bird species. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and later in the afternoon, enjoy a 3-hour boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. Expect to see a lot of hippos and elephants along the river banks. One of the highlights of the boat ride is getting up close to the Falls itself, which gives you a glimpse and feel of the power and beauty that is witnessed when the waters of the world’s longest river is forced through a 7-meter gap before dropping 40 meters as is continues its journey to the Mediterranean Sea. You can opt to disembark on your boat and hike to the top of the falls where your guide will be ready with the car waiting for you or you can cruise back to the pier and then transfer to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge. Full Board.

Morning breakfast then drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Today’s journey will involve transversing through the magnificent Albertine Escarpments and enjoying the views of the cool countryside. Lunch stop over en route and continue with your journey to Kibale Forest National Park arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Turaco Tree Tops. Full Board.

Today after breakfast, you will transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority Head Quarters at Kanyanchu Gate for a short briefing about your chimpanzee trek. After this, you will set off and enter the forest with a group of rangers and trackers to locate where the chimps were last seen the previous night. Upon locating the chimps, you will spend one hour with them as you watch them play with in their families. During the trek, you will also get to see the different birds, animals and plant species within the forest. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will visit the Bigodi Swamp and its village. The swamp is a well known habitat for different bird species as well as other primates. You will be able to see rare mammals and birds like the webbed feet sitatunga, the great blue turaco, Rwenzori turaco and more. Other animals that can be sighted are the bush pigs, black and white colobus monkeys and so on. The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a community-based programme that supports local residents and encourages a healthy link between tourism and the community it affects because the proceeds are used to build schools and offer small loans to the local residents. Morning breakfast then visit the Kasenda Craters. Participate in a short hike to the ‘Top of the World’ view point and also visit the spectacular Lake Nyinambuga, the lake depicted on the 20.000 Uganda shilling note. After this proceed with your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon. Overnight at Elephant Hab Lodge. Full Board

ueen Elizabeth National Park is the oldest and the most visited national park in Uganda. An early morning game drive after breakfast will be carried out in the Kasenyi Plains which are in the north-east section of the park, west of Lake George. During the game drive look out for animals such as lions, buffalos, antelopes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, baboons and if you are lucky leopards. Afternoon enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. This boat cruise starts at the Mweya Peninsula and lasts about 3 hrs. The Kazinga channel is a 32-kilometre-long channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George. Its is believed to have the world’s largest concentration of hippos. Other water loving animals seen are the Nile crocodiles, thirsty buffalos and elephants along the river banks drinking and a lot of bird species such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, storks and skimmers. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Hab Lodge. Full Board.

Morning breakfast then depart for Bwindi National Park with an en route stopover in Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for the rare tree climbing lions. Have a short game drive in Ishasha and search for different animals missed out on the previous game drives. Lunch and continue with your journey to Bwindi arriving in the afternoon. Set out for a community walk with in Buhoma including a visit to Ride 4 A Woman, Buhoma hospital and Batwa cultural experience. Overnight at your Lodge in Bwindi. (Mahogany Springs Lodge/Bakiga Lodge). Full Board.

The long wait is finally over and your gorilla trekking experience day is here. After a full breakfast at your lodge, you will transfer to the park offices for briefing including all the information about how to behave when you are with the gorillas and how long it might take. Gorilla trekking is the highlight of each visit to Uganda and still stands as one of the most memorable primate experiences in Africa. The UWA Ranger guides will lead you into the impenetrable forest pushing through the undergrowth to track the Bwindi gorillas. This gorilla walk can take up to 6 hours and a reasonable degree of fitness and a sturdy pair of walking shoes are a must have for all trekkers. You are highly recommended to hire a porter to help on carry your back pack and also give you support whenever it’s needed during hiking. Take a rain jacket, water and snacks along with you, but be sure to leave nothing behind in the forest. After the trek, return to your lodge in the afternoon or evening for relaxation. Overnight at your lodge in Bwindi. (Mahogany Springs Lodge/Bakiga Lodge). Full Board.

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale, a journey through the beautiful terraced verdant hills of Kigezi region. Kabale is also known as the “Switzerland of Africa”. Lunch at your lodge and afternoon take a boat trip on Lake Bunyonyi, which is the second deepest lake in Africa after Tanganyika, to numerous islands including Punishment Island as well as to the local communities surrounding the area. Overnight at Arcadia Cottages. Full Board.

Breakfast at your lodge in the morning then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, which is in the heartland of the Ankole Kingdom. This journey will offer you with beautiful sceneries as you transition between the Kigezi region into the Ankole region which is well known for the long-horned Ankole cattle. Upon arriving in the park, have lunch at your lodge and set out for the afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. This is one of the best activities within the park and can be done at dawn or dusk and normally takes around 2 hours. All boat rides begin at the Rwonyo jetty and won’t take that much time before you are rewarded with views of different water loving animals such as the hippos, crocodiles, buffalos and a lot of antelopes. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock. Full board.

Morning breakfast and set out for a game drive. Look out for animals such as elands, topis, impalas, oribis, zebras and cape buffalos as well as a lot of bird species such as the Carruther’s cisticolas, papyrus gonoleks and brown-faced lapwings. After this you will be transferred back to Entebbe with en route stop over for lunch and also at the Equator for photographs. Drop off at the Entebbe Airport in the evening in time for your flight back home. Half Board.
