From USD 5,980 – USD 5,754 per person, depending on the seaon
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a professional tour driver-guide will receive and welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa – for your safari holiday. Thereafter, you will transfer to the booked accommodation. You will check in and take your rest – recovering from jet lag, adjusting to time difference. Optional (extra cost): in case you reached early and interested in some activity, you may consider an excursion to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens.
Be up early, have breakfast and drive off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Once there, you will proceed for an hour of on-foot rhino tracking. From the rhino tracking, head to Masindi where you will have a lunch stop. After lunch, embark on the transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national park where you will have the chance of viewing lions on this safari holiday in Uganda and much more wildlife.
Have your breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national park, Murchison Falls, and be on the look for wildlife including lions and leopards (though hard to spot) among others. For any birder, there are quite a number of birds to sight too during the drive. Return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will see wildlife.
Today, you will have breakfast and then depart right away for Kibale Forest National Park – popular for its primates like the chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkey, Uganda mangabey (Lophocebus ugandae). The drive is quite long but incredibly scenic – passing through villages, lush green countryside and hills dotted with tea plantations that characterize this part of Uganda. The beautiful scenery will surely amaze you all the way till Kibale NP.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale starts with a briefing at the park office. The Rangers will locate the group by following their hoots and calls. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale is more predictable compared to the ones in Nyungwe in Rwanda or Budongo Forest in Murchison Falls National Park. Once the chimpanzees are found, you spend an hour with them before returning to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, head out to Bigodi Community for a nature walk and community encounter in this area.
Our guide will pick you up after taking breakfast, for the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have great views of the Rwenzori Mountains – also known as “Mountains of the Moon” – along the way and will make a stop to visit the “Mabera ga Nyina Mwiru caves”. Afterwards, you will continue the journey to the park in time for the sunset launch cruise at the Kazinga Channel, during which you might get to see hippos spraying water just next to you.
The morning game drive give us opportunities to spot buffaloes, lions, elephants, birds, antelopes, hyenas and the occasional leopard. Queen Elizabeth NP stands out because of the beautiful landscape. It remains relatively green even during the dry months of the year. After observing the wildlife scenery, you will head back to the lodge for lunch. The afternoon boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel starts at 2:00pm. This channel has one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa.
Set off through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to see the famous tree climbing lions of Uganda and many of the other park animals. Uganda is the best country to see tree climbing lions. Then continue the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is home to the largest population of mountain gorillas in the world. The park is also home to 120 species of mammals, 346 birds and plant life.
Gorilla trekking can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the gorilla family you are tracking and their location on the day of the trek. Once you get to them, you are allowed only one hour of observation. Use this time to study the group and individual members . Later in the afternoon, you will be taken to visit the Batwa pygmies of Bwindi. The Batwa where the original inhabitants of the forests in Bwindi, Mgahinga, the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Virunga in Congo.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi in the south western part of Uganda lying between Kisoro and Kabale, close to the Rwandan border. It is Uganda’s deepest lake with a varying depth between 44m and 900m, a width of 7km and 25km long. Lake Bunyonyi is also said to be the second deepest lake in Africa lying on an altitude of about 1962meters above sea level. Upon arrival, have lunch and evening relaxation to enjoy the evening.
Have breakfast and set off directly to Lake Mburo NP via Mbarara city. You will arrive at the accommodation in Lake Mburo in time for lunch and take the afternoon-evening relaxing. Later (at 7pm), you will move out for the breathtaking Mburo night game drive. A night safari game drive in Lake Mburo National Park offers participants the opportunity to view the park and its wildlife in a whole new style. The drives start just a few minutes to 7:00pm and typically last 02 to 03 hours.
After breakfast you will head for a horseback ride to see the animals at close range while on the horse after which you will head back, have your lunch and check out to start the return journey to Kampala, arriving in the late afternoon.
