In the morning you will be picked up from Kampala and begin the trip to Murchison Falls National Park, named after the most powerful waterfall on earth. The drive is filled with magnificent views and will provide ample opportunities for photographs. You will have lunch in Masindi before completing the last stretch to the falls. An optional visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is on offer which will increase your chances of seeing the entire big five. Once you arrive at the reserve, you will be able to see the Nile River squeeze itself through the 8m chasm and over the mighty falls. You will then make your way to your lodge for the evening and enjoy a delicious dinner.
On the second day, you will awaken to tranquil birdsong and the pure air of the Ugandan wilderness. After a hearty breakfast, you will embark on a sunrise game drive, a highlight of any Ugandan safari. You will have the opportunity to see many of Africa’s giants as well as birds like the African fish eagle. After your drive, you will return to the camp for lunch and some down time before heading out for an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile River. The cruise will meander towards the bottom of the raging falls, passing a multitude of species that frequent the water ways and its banks. After a beautiful sunset, you will head back to your lodge for dinner.
After an early breakfast, you will set off for Kibale National Park, the primate capital of East Africa. Enjoy a beautiful drive through the western countryside, then stop for lunch in Fort Portal. You will reach your lodge in the afternoon, offering magnificent views of the Rwenzori Mountain Range. In the early evening, you will go for a cultural village walk in the Isunga community, catching a glimpse into the lives of the Batooro and Bakiga tribes. Experience their culture through dance, their history and some delicious cuisine. After a filling meal and the beautiful smiles have warmed your heart, you will head back to your lodge for the evening.
Today you will set out into the Kibale Forest in search of one of the groups that make up the population of 500 chimpanzees that live in the reserve. After a delicious breakfast and a briefing, you will be guided into the dense forest in search of the habituated groups that are able to have contact with humans. Once you find them, you will be able to observe their behaviour, watch them feeding in the fig trees, witness them mating and socialising and truly get to know these distant cousins of ours. The forest will make for wet trekking conditions but will offer sightings of numerous primates and a host of other wildlife species, providing ample viewings before and after your encounter with the chimps. Later you will have some lunch before making your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon drive.

You will also get an opportunity to see the chimpanzees for a second time as you walk through Kyambure Gorge. After an eventful and exciting trekking experience, you will head back to the lodge for lunch, followed by an exciting evening game drive.
Today you will head out for a morning game drive to explore more of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will visit the Ishasha region of the reserve, on the Western edge of the Rift Valley escarpment. If you are fortunate, you may come across the famous tree climbing lions in the park. Thereafter you will head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the magnificent mountain gorillas and several other primate species like the blue and red-tailed monkeys. You will arrive at your lodge and have the opportunity to relax and enjoy a hearty dinner before your trek that begins in the morning.
After breakfast, you will be briefed on the details and safety protocols for the adventure ahead. The day’s trekking will take around 6 hours and is a challenging mix of navigating thick jungle and slippery, steep hillsides. After quietly pushing through the forest, you will be rewarded with the amazing experience of being able to sit amongst these giants for over an hour, observing their gentle nature, witnessing how they interact with one another and taking some pictures. After your time with the gorillas, you will head back to camp and will have the chance to go on an afternoon walk to the local Batwa community for a taste of culture. Witness some traditional dancing and enjoy some of their cuisine before returning to your lodge for a well deserved rest and some dinner.
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the beautiful terraced farmlands and rolling hills. You will stop for lunch in Mbarara before continuing on to the reserve and enjoying an en-ruote game drive.
