Day Tour Overview

We will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive you to the old Moshi village, located in Moshi town at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. On a clear day the mountain can be seen as you drive in.

The 2-3 hour hike will take you through the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro with beautiful banana and coffee plantations, rainforest, waterfalls, flora and fauna. You will stop in a village of the Chagga people where you will learn how to prepare local coffee and banana brew as well as experience an outstanding cultural experience. You will visit the local museum and learn about the history of Chagga Chief Mell who was killed by a German and his skull taken to Germany together with other history about the Chagga people. In the late afternoon you will drive back to Moshi or Arusha for drop off at your place of choice.
