Based in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, the gateway to Tanzania’s famous national parks and home to Mount Kilimanjaro, Bantu Pori Journeys grew up out of the local community. Our highly personalized safaris and treks offer a unique window onto the landscape, wildlife and culture of this extraordinary region.

Our journeys are crafted by a diverse family and team born and bred in Tanzania, who love the country and care to deliver the finest tour experiences from a native angle. This natural advantage allows us to introduce travellers to Tanzania’s people, spectacular beauty and unforgettable sense of wilderness.

Our Guides
Each of our guides has at least six years experience as a safari guide in Northern Tanzania and on Mount Kilimanjaro treks, meaning you will be guided by knowledgeable and skilled tourism professionals throughout your trip. During a Kilimanjaro climb, you hike with at least one head guide, an assistant guide, cook and several porters.
All of our guides are local Tanzanians, fluent in English and most have advanced wildlife certificates from the Mweka Wildlife College – the oldest and most prestigious wildlife college in Africa. Course work includes wildlife ecology, conservation, field skills, identification, biology and advanced tour guiding.
Our employees know the terrain intimately and take great pride in their work. They will never compromise your safety. At Bantu Pori Journeys we are a close community and most of us live in Moshi town. From management to the guides and porters, we know each other well and have a special mutual respect. We regularly meet all requirements of fair treatment of porters as set by Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project.
