From multi-generational safaris to individual expeditions we are able to use our decades of ‘in country’ local knowledge to ensure you have the best experiences available regardless of budget. Stay with us at Kisongo Farm House and enjoy the unique opportunity to lift the lid on ‘real’ life in Tanzania. Stay for a night at the beginning or end of the safari or use us as a base to venture forth into the wilds. Epic safari destinations such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater are on our doorstep. From the close by Arusha airstrip, Southern Tanzania and the Zanzibar archipelago are also in easy reach.
Our Accommodation
We are a family living in the middle of Maasailand, but only 30 mins from Arusha Airport. We believe that a wildlife safari should be about more than ticking off the Big 5 game sightings. Our concept is that of a country house party. Kisongo Farmhouse has been our home for the last 10 years. A 100 acre farm, 25 km from Arusha, it’s located on the Maasai steppe surrounded by fumeroles (extinct mini volcanoes) and pastoral Maasai.
We have a cottage with two interconnecting bedrooms as well as several spacious safari tents that can be put up on request. The farm and the surrounding area is yours to explore. Riding around the farm on bicycle, motorbike or horse, sun downers at an unbroken caldera or just relaxing in the pool interspersed with high octane games of croquet. Immerse yourself in this cathedral of the wild.
Our Safaris
We would be delighted to help you tailor make a safari using companies and guides that we know and trust. From riding to self driving and mixing up everything in between we can ensure you disconnect from your day to day lives and re awaken your senses!
We can arrange a variety of guided safaris such as a 14-day family camping itinerary or a ‘long weekend’ 6-day safari for a couple. Guides and drivers are integral to your overall safari experience and we use some of the best in the business.
We can also provide self drive vehicles equipped with everything you need for driving your own adventure. All the vehicles we use are Toyota Landcruisers and are safari prepared to highest standard. With multiple vehicles at our disposal we can outfit everything from a family safari to the Northern Highlights all the way to a multi week adventure to the South West of Tanzania. We are able to assist with Special Campsite Booking, itinerary planning and all domestic travel arrangements.
