Surpassed all of our expectations!

I don't even know where to begin. This trip was the most amazing experience my husband and I have ever had and I could not recommend it enough.

We knew we wanted to go on safari for our honeymoon, but we didn't know where to start. I found a number of companies on Tripadvisor, but Seko Safaris stood out to us. From initial contact they were friendly, sent a detailed itinerary and guidance for Tanzania and were quick to respond to any questions we had big or small. At every stage of the planning (and we booked within 6 weeks of our visit) Wilbard and Victor responded to us within 24 hours and arranged extra tours at our requests. We couldn't wait to arrive.

When we landed in Arusha it was 8pm and took us over an hour to get through security. I was concerned by this, but we were met by Emmanuel at the airport and he was instantly welcoming. He loaded our luggage, gave us bottled water and explained to us about Tanzania and where we were going. Emmanuel was also our tour guide for our final day in Arusha, where we went coffee making and to a hot spring. He couldn't have done enough for us - he guarded our belongings whilst we swam, kept checking to see if Kilimanjaro was out from the clouds and offered us local food and drinks. All of these things may seem small, but they made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. We cannot thank him enough!

Now, onto the safari. Ozzie was our driver and guide and we were so lucky to have got him. He was friendly, funny and exceptionally hard working (he even managed to teach us some Swahili, which we really enjoyed learning)! On day one we saw 3 of the big 5 and thought that was lucky, but he surpassed himself over the next 2 days. When we went to the Ngorongoro Crater & the Serengeti he found us the big 5 in one day - it was truly one of the best days of our lives! The leopard was found right at sunset in the Serengeti and although other tour guides (from other companies) decided it was too far to drive Ozzie got us there in time to see her asleep in the tree and then jump down and walk right next to us!

The next day we were in the Serengeti and Ozzie asked us what we would like to see - we said hyenas and cheetahs, if possible. Ozzie went out of his way to find them for us, and although others considered it too far a drive, he took us to see 2 family of cheetah (one had 5 cubs) and where the hyenas were gathering (which happened to be next to some lions and over 10,000 zebra). We were honestly so lucky with Ozzie's humour, knowledge and tenacity and cannot thank him enough for his work.

From the initial contact to our Arusha and safari guide, Seko Safaris exceeded all of our expectations and ensured we would never forget Tanzania (especially with the 6000 photos taken)!
Thank you all so much!

Amazing Experience, Amazing Company, Amazing Staff

We were on a 7 day hike through the Kilimanjaro Machame Route and we couldn't have asked for better team. Our guides Tomas and Victor handled the tour in a highly professional manner, while being easy to talk to. We got a very good team that handled all our needs in the absolute best way. We never had a dull moment, always felt great professionalism and had a wonderful hike in Kilimanjaro.

Highly recommend Seko Safaris and especially our team and guides Tomas and Victor.

Unforgable Kilimanjaro 6 Days Marangu Climbing

Written by: Nickson Kalidry on 02 March 2021

We chose Seko Safaris because from the very first email they delivered an outstanding service, great information and incredibly speedy replies to all my questions and needs. We never came to regret this decision. Seko Safaris made sure that we had the most wonderful experience on our Marangu Route up to Uhuru Peak. We were a group of 6 people and were guided by Viviano, Fcmtey and Hemedi, three absolutely wonderful, savvy, and funny guides who made us feel home and welcome from the very first minute. (Also great Swahili teachers by the way).

Our days on Kili felt like a luxury experience as our amazing waiter Rama made sure there was nothing missing throughout our days. We were blessed with the best chef Haji and a team of porters led by Koroboi who made us feel like one family and shared their home, their Africa with us without hesitation. They laughed and shared their home with us as if we were the first and only group they ever had.

The Marangu Route is stunning - looking back and hearing about the other routes I would pick this route over and over again since you walk around Kili and get to see this mountain from different angles as you make your way all the way up. Highly recommend it! Also, take at least 5 or 6 days for the hike - this gives you more resting and acclimatisation time to really appreciate nature and the beauty of this experience. Big compliment to our guides as they realised any slightest change in our well-being (altitude sickness, sore muscles, old and new injuries...) within seconds, adjusted the speed when needed and made sure we stayed healthy and safe. This way ALL OF US made it all the way up to the top! 5895m.

I would also like to dearly thank the entire office team for their help with all the troubles and unexpected changes in our trip due to the current Covid-19 situation around the world. Thanks to their help and flexibility we felt at home at any moment and made it back to the airport safely to return home. Also highly recommend their Safari Tours! Our guide Raymond was awesome, the camping site was more than we had expected and we saw 4 of the Big5 in only 2 days.

Picking this company is definitely the right choice no matter what plans for Tanzania you have!
