Day by Day Overview

Our safari driver/guide will meet you at Entebbe International Airport for your transfer to a selected hotel in Kampala. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may be able to explore Kampala and the surroundings as well as relax after your flight.

Journey time: 45 mins – 1 hr
Overnight: Fairway Hotel Kampala

After breakfast at the hotel, your journey to Karamoja (Moroto) commences via Jinja ‘the adventure capital of Uganda’. Travel through the largest tropical rain forest ‘Mabira’ and cross over the world’s longest Nile River. Arrive at your lodge in the evening.

Journey time: 8.5 hrs via Jinja
Overnight: Kara–Tunga Safari Camp (Guest Rooms)

After breakfast take a scenic nature walk through the valley of Mount Moroto, the highest mountain of Karamoja. During this you will visit a traditional village of the ‘So Tepeth’ natives, with a chance of spending a night in the Karamojong traditional kraal (optional). The Karamojong are related to the Masai of Kenya and live a similar lifestyle, but the difference is that the Karamojong are completely unknown giving you an exclusive visit. You will also visit one of the most impressive kraal or manyatta of this community.

Optional: A Night in a Manyatta – there is an option to sleep in one of the non-permanent kraals and spend an evening with a specific family. Part of this evening is a goat roast ceremony where they are likely to sing and dance all night.

Overnight: Kara–Tunga Safari Camp (Guest Rooms)

Breakfast and leisurely morning then travel to the most beautiful Kidepo Valley National Park. If this day falls on a Wednesday, you will have an opportunity to see an authentic Karamojong cattle market, where herders buy and sell their goats, cows and chickens, which is a very interesting experience. After the market visit, proceed to Uganda’s most remote national park, Kidepo Valley, with its photogenic scenery and vegetation. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the lodge (all meals).

Journey time: 4-5 hrs
Overnight: Kidepo Savannah Lodge

Early in the morning you start your game drive. You can expect to see various animals including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hartebeests, water bucks and bush bucks among others. Thereafter, return to lodge and relax after the long game drive. Later there’s an opportunity to go on an evening game drive to see nocturnal animals. Most importantly, you will have a chance to experience the park exclusively with minimal likelihood of encountering another vehicle.

Overnight: Kidepo Savannah Lodge

After breakfast, you travel to the Sudanese boarder to see the ostrich population, which is exclusive to Kidepo National Park. Here you will have lunch set in the bush overlooking the park.

Optional: Bush Walk – enjoy a walk in the company of an armed ranger besides the 4×4 safari vehicles.

Return to your lodge later in the evening with dinner prepared at the lodge.

Overnight: Kidepo Savannah Lodge

Early in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and check out of your lodge then your journey back to Kampala will commence. Upon arrival, spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Journey Time: 08hrs: 33mins via Jinja
Overnight: Fairway Hotel Kampala

On this final day of your safari, enjoy a brief tour of Kampala city with visits to Buganda palace, Uganda museum, Nakasero market, historical monuments, the largest craft village and temples. You will later be transferred to Entebbe International Airport to check in for your departure flight.
