Day by Day Overview

Arusha National Park is one of Tanzania’s smaller parks, often missed by visitors, but it is a beautiful park with stunning scenery and a large population of animals. The park is 137 sq km and is divided into three parts: Mount Meru, Ngurdoto Crater and Momella Lakes. After a game drive through the park you will do a guided walking safari. On foot, you may see giraffe, buffalo and other animals from a good distance. At the end of the day, you arrive at the Tulia Hotel & Spa.

Accommodation: Tulia Hotel & Spa
Meals:
Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Today we pick you up from your hotel in (or around) Arusha. During the 2,5 hour drive to Tarangire National Park, you will enjoy the beautiful nature and landscapes. Tarangire is famous for its large number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons. At the end of the day we arrive at the campsite where the chef will prepare a nice meal for you.

Accommodation: Budget camping
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water

On this day we continue with the game drives in Tarangire National Park. The Tarangire River has the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. After the game drives we go to African Glamping Camp for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Budget camping, just outside Tarangire NP
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

Today we go to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its breathtaking panoramic views, waterfalls, babbling brooks with clear water and hot springs. We will do a game drive there all morning and after lunch you’ll start a walking safari inside the park. At the end of the day we go back to African Glamping Camp.

Accommodation: Budget camping, just outside Lake Manyara NP
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

On this daywe visit the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. The Hadzabe (Bushmen) will teach us many things such as how to make a fire by using two dry sticks and how to use a bow and arrow. Collect some tubers, roots, and fruits with the women or join the men for hunting. After lunch, we visit the Datoga tribe, which resembles the Maasai culture. These people are natural blacksmiths and we will observe as they make weapons such as arrowheads and knives, which they trade with the Bushmen. We will also learn how they grind maize with stones, how they melt brass, copper or aluminum. After the adventures of the day, we overnight at Lake Eyasi Campsite.

Accommodation: Budget camping
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

We wake up early in the morning, have breakfast then drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After a couple of hours, we will be driving into the amazing Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world, home to an estimated 30,000 larger mammals. After the game drive in Ngorongoro, we overnight at Simba campsite.

Accommodation: Simba campsite
Meals and Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

Today we’re heading towards the Serengeti National Park. As soon as we arrive here we start a game drive until sunset. The Serengeti, with its endless plains of savannah and forest landscapes, is famous for its migration involving about 1.5 million herbivores and followers. Thousands of predators are moving because of the drought in the northern hills to the southern plains to search for food. At the end of the day, we arrive at Nyani campsite in central Serengeti where the guide will set up the tents and the chef will prepare dinner.

Accommodation: Budget campsite
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (other drinks not included)

Enjoy a full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park before staying overnight at Lobo Campsite.

Today we do an early morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. After lunch, we’ll continue with the game drive as we head to Lake Natron. At the end of the day, we arrive at Lake Natron Campsite where the chef prepares dinner as the driver sets up the tents.

Today we leave early to go to Lake Natron and waterfalls. Lake Natron is a soda lake at the base of the active Ol Donyo Lengai volcano, the area around it is often described as having a desolate and almost lunar beauty. East Africa has 1.5 – 2.5 million lesser flamingos, representing three-quarters of the world population, and most of them are hatched at Lake Natron. Food is plentiful, nesting sites abound, and above all, the lake is isolated and undisturbed. In the afternoon we head back to Arusha where we arrive before dinner.
