Day by Day Overview

Early in the morning after breakfast at your hotel, our company representative who will be your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel and brief you before heading out to Murchison Falls, which is in the northern part of Uganda. Along the way, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola where rhinos are being reintroduced into the wild in Uganda. This will help you have a complete feel of the African Big Five mammals, as it is the rhinos, out of the Big Five that are missing in Murchison Falls National Park. You will go for a trek around the sanctuary on foot. Later proceed to Murchison Falls National park and upon entry, visit the top of the Falls and later proceed for your lunch. Later in the evening go for an evening game drive to lookout for animals that include lions, giraffes, leopards, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, among others. Afterwards head to your lodge to check-in for dinner and overnight.

After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed for a morning game drive in searches of wildlife like lions, giraffes, oribis, elephants, Jackson’s hartebeests, Uganda kobs, buffaloes among other animals, and many bird species. You will later proceed for lunch and relaxation ready for  an exciting activity in the afternoon. Ttransfer for a boat cruise on the Nile River to the bottom of the Falls where you will have the opportunity to view animals. Crocodiles and hippos are in the water while buffaloes, waterbucks, and elephants are often seen on the river bank grazing and drinking water. You will later return to reunite with your driver guide and head back to the lodge.

After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive to see more wildlife, some of which you might have missed. Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, the ‘primate capital’, home to chimpanzees, baboons, and monkeys, with en-route lunch. Upon arrival, you will check-in at your lodge, freshen-up and relax before dinner and overnight.

Kibale National Park is the primate capital of East Africa. Chimpanzee trekking is a fulfilling adventure that takes you deep in the tropical forest across streams of water. You might have sightings of red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, butterflies, and birds calling from the canopies while on this adventure. With the help of your guide, you will locate the chimps. Enjoy picture moments and watch them as they play and feed.

In the afternoon, you will visit Bigodi Village and Wetland known for its rich diversity of birds and primates, depending on time availability. Taking this tour, you are contributing to the development of this community because the proceeds are used to build schools and offer small loans.

Today after breakfast, our safari continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a wildlife experience in the plain of Kasenyi. The drive will take us through views of several crater lakes. On arrival in the park, we shall have a small game drive as we proceed to the lodge for lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Have an early morning breakfast then go for a morning game drive within the park. Anticipate seeing buffalos, elephants, lions, giant forest hogs, bushbucks, kobs, hyenas and waterbucks. In the afternoon hours, you will enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. You will appreciate the high scores of elephants, hippos, buffalos, and crocodiles. A number of bird species will also be seen including the rare shoebill. Dinner and  overnight stay at the lodge.

You’ll transfer through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the way to Bwindi. This area is known for its tree-climbing lions. In Ishasha, we will drive off in this vast savannah area with topis and African elephants plus hopefully see the lions high in the fig tree branches. You will have lunch in Ishasha and continue with the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here you will experience a change in the landscape from flat savanna, via cultivated hills to jungle-covered mountains. Upon arrival in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will head for the cultural tour to the Batwa forest pygmies community to experience their lifestyle and enjoy their excellent traditional dance. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start the trekking. The activity can last up to 4 hours or more to find the mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. Hence, you will have a packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually bring you to face-to-face with one the world’s most endangered creatures, the mountain gorillas. Upon reaching them, you will have a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After an early breakfast, go for a morning horse back ride in Lake Mburo National Park. This park is famous for zebras, impalas, giraffes, elands, Cape buffalos, and many tropical bird species. Afterwards, check out of the hotel and transfer to Entebbe International Airport with a stopover at the Equator line to have an authentic feel of standing at Latitude 00. Back in Entebbe, you’ll be dropped at the airport to catch your flight back home in the evening. Say farewell to the Pearl of Africa – thank you for visiting Uganda!
