Day by Day Overview

In the arrivals area of San Cristobal airport your driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel in the village of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (about 5 minutes drive).

Accommodation in Golden Bay Hotel or similar

After breakfast, you go by boat to snorkel at Kicker Rock, one of the most spectacular landmarks in the Galapagos Islands with two volcanic rocks of 140 meters tall, located off the coast of San Cristobal Island. Viewed from the south, the rocks look like a sleeping lion, which is why the Spanish name is León Dormido (sleeping lion). From another side it looks like a boot, hence the English name, Kicker Rock. This tiny island is the favorite place for an array of marine birds and great underwater life. The natural erosion of this ancient cone has created a channel between the rocks that provides the ideal habitat to a variety of sharks and rays. In the afternoon, you go back to the hotel.

You will be picked up at your hotel and dropped off at San Cristobal airport (about 5 minutes drive). You take a small airplane from San Cristobal to Isabela which takes about 45 minutes. You will be picked up at Isabela airport and taken to your hotel in Puerto Villami (about 7 minutes drive). Later on a guide will accompany you for a kayak excursion in the bay of Puerto Villamil – look out for fish, sharks or penguins.

Accommodation in Scalesia Lodge or similar

After breakfast, your guide will take you to what is said to be one of the best snorkeling places in the world, Los Tuneles. The water is shallow, calm and very clear- a sea sanctuary. A series of lava flows have produced unique geological formations, a series of arcs and tunnels underneath and above the water- a habitat for many local Galapagos species. The entrance to the site is shallow and the waves can be strong, for this reason, the access can be complicated. You will have a snack on board and then return to Puerto Villamil.

Bartolome Island has some of the most beautiful and photographed landscapes of the archipelago. It is a volcanic islet just off the east coast of Santiago Island. The main attraction of the island is the Pinnacle Rock, a big lava formation that over time has eroded. After arriving on the land, you will take the trail and you will have to climb to the top of the extinct volcano which will take around 30-40 minutes. After reaching the top of the wooden staircase you will feel it was worth it with views of the spectacular landscape of the island. Bartolome has also two beautiful beaches half moon-shaped with gold color sand that invite you to have a sunbath or snorkel around the lava formations, you might find the Galapagos penguin and sea turtles swimming in shallow waters. At the end of your tour you will be brought back to Puerto Ayora by boat, and will be dropped off at your hotel.
