Visit three parks on this Kenya safari: Maasai Mara National Reserve, famous for the great annual wildebeest migration, Hell’s Gate National Park near Lake Naivasha where you can do a wide variety of activities, and Amboseli National Park, known for its large elephant herds, views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania and Observation Hill which offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Day by Day Overview

You will be picked up from Nairobi airport and transferred to your hotel where you have a briefing. Have an early night before you head to Maasai Mara National Reserve the next day for the start of your safari.

This morning leave Nairobi and drive through the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve, which is part of the vast Serengeti Plains, is famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is home of the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Enjoy lunch at the lodge/camp and relax before departing on an the afternoon game drive. The Mara Game Reserve one of the greatest wildernesses in the world where large mammals are varied and easy to see such as giraffe, buffalo, eland and thousands of plain games including impala, zebra and both Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles.

Enjoy a full day spent game viewing in the Masai Mara, looking for the great predators and exploring the park’s amazingly high concentration of wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During the stay, we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.

After breakfast head south, passing through Naivasha town and drive around the southern end of the lake, past the flower farms to the entrance of Hell’s Gate National Park. Soon after you enter the park the impressive landscape unfolds before you – a semi-arid world with sheer rugged cliffs, open plains and deep concealed gorges. There are many activities you can do in Hell’s Gate National Park including walking, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching and trekking through the gorge amongst the geysers – the choice is yours. Enjoy a picnic lunch, then mid-afternoon depart for your accommodation on Lake Naivasha for a well-earned hot shower and a cold drink.

We depart to Amboseli via Nairobi in the morning after breakfast and drive south through Masai country to the plains below Mt. Kilimanjaro where Amboseli is situated. After a picnic lunch en-route, we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park before setting up camp in preparation for the evening. With the majestic backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro, spectacular displays of wildlife such as lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and various plains game mean postcard-perfect pictures are almost always guaranteed.

Spend a whole day in Amboseli National Park enjoying morning and afternoon game drives. Visit a Masai Village and learn about their rich culture (extra cost). In the early evening, the clouds often clear exposing the snow-capped dome of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Dinner and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp
After breakfast, you will be driven back to Nairobi for drop off at the airport for your onward flight or at your hotel.
