Day By Day Overview

Your African safari begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. Transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast set off in a specially designed, open-top safari vehicle to Tarangire National Park, which boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. You may see large herds of wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and buffalo. Tarangire National Park is one of the best parks for elephant watching and is home to hundreds of bird and game species. Enjoy lunch and dinner at your lodge in Tarangire National Park.

After breakfast head towards the Serengeti National Park with a stopover at Olduvai Gorge, boasting a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here that the anthropologists Drs Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of the famous ‘Nutcracker Man” and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We do a late game drive en route to the eco-friendly Bush Camp for overnight stay.

We will offer you an ideal opportunity to do an optional and completely unforgettable hot air balloon flight, followed by a delightful champagne breakfast (available at a supplementary cost and  can be booked in advance). After breakfast we head to the south-eastern side of the park, visiting the Barafu Kopjes and the Ngare Nanyuki River area, for our morning and afternoon game drives. Apart from the lion prides you find in the area, the Barafu Kopjes is the place for possible cheetah sightings. The Ngare Nanyuki River area is also well known for being packed with game.

After breakfast check out from your lodge or bush camp and enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti. With picnic lunches head off via Simba Kopjes, Naabi Hill Gate to drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Proceed to the crater rim to enjoy stupendous views of  the crater from the top and enjoy a memorable picnic lunch. Then to the lodge for overnight stay.

After breakfast head to the heart of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the largest calderas in the world, which contains a variety of ecosystems and an astounding concentration of birds and animals. Encounter massive herds of zebra, wildebeest and gazelles. This area affords an opportunity to spot the Big Five, which encompasses elephant, leopard, lion, buffalo and the rare black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater and then in the evening drive back to Arusha City for an overnight stay.
