Day by Day Safari Itinireray
The safari starts with a pick-up from the airport or your hotel and head straight to Lake Naivasha. Arrive at Lake Naivasha in the mid-afternoon just in time for check-in and lunch. Lake Naivasha is the highest and purest of all the Rift Valley Lakes at 1880 m above the sea-level. This area is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 450 species of recorded birds in the area. A small island on the lake is home to a number of wildlife. Enjoy a boat safari as you view wildlife and birds from the tranquil lake. Later return to the resort for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort
After breakfast at the country club, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park and arrive in time for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge. At 3:00pm, proceed for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the flamingos, at times millions, is quite spectacular! From a distance, the lake appears ringed in pink. The lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species, particularly the Rothschild giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalos, and baboons are all residents here.
Dinner and overnight: Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge
Drive via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch. Now, relax as you enjoy the beautiful sunset during the evening game drive. The Masai Mara National Reserve offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe! Over 450 species of animals have been recorded here—lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, leopards, many kinds of antelopes and elephants. In the Mara, perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world is the annual migration. The annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra between Serengeti National Park (Tanzania) and Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya) as the animals search for water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah—lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Overnight: Ashnil Mara Camp
Start the day with a very early morning game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve—an epitome of an African safari. You will enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch next to the famous Mara River, or we can arrange an optional hot air balloon safari (at an extra cost).
Overnight: Ashnil Mara Camp
After breakfast, check out then you can participate in an optional activity – a visit to a local Masai village. During this visit, you will be introduced to the Maasai culture and observe their dances (an extra 20 USD per person). Have an en-route lunch at Narok. Finally, we will depart for Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. We will drop you off at your hotel or airport.
