Day by Day Overview

You will be picked up in Nairobi for the drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley. We continue driving on through Longonot and Suswa and on to the western walls with another stopover at Narok for re-fueling. Arrive at the Masai Mara in time for lunch. Later on proceed for an evening game drive in the Mara, which is popular for spotting the big five as well as a host of other wildlife. The team returns to camp late in the evening just in time for dinner and overnight.

Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Camp

A full day is spent at the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Driving across the plains in search of the big cats (black maned lions, cheetahs and leopards) with picnic lunch served at the Mara River. Vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the Mara grasslands in huge numbers during the annual migration when millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle traverse from the Serengeti National Park to the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new grass. You also have a chance to see other plain game like the topi, hartebeest and eland.

Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Camp

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, travel across the ‘bread basket of Kenya’, where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. Now travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you head up the Mai-Mahiu, before arriving at Lake Nakuru around midday. Once in the park view game en route to the lodge. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. The national park is known for its bird life and offers a possibility to view flamingos. It is also home to black and white rhinos as well as the endangered Rothschild giraffe.

Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Camp

After an early morning breakfast we will have a game drive en route to Nairobi. We will have stop-overs in the towns to give you a chance to buy souvenirs, then arrive late in the afternoon. You will be transferred to the airport or hotel.
