Day by Day Overview
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be received by a representative from our company who will be your driver guide. They will brief you on your trip and transfer you to Ruhengeri to visit the Ibyi’wacu people to learn more about their culture, and have lunch here. We will engage in some of their cultural dances as they dance. Later proceed to the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi, for a briefing about the does and don’ts of the tracking activity . You’ll be assigned rangers in different groups and embark on tracking the gorillas. Once the gorilla family is sighted, you will spend an hour watching them, your closest cousins! Afterwards embark on your return from the park and proceed to your lodge. Later in the afternoon you can visit the Dian Fossey Museum to learn more about the history of Dian Fossey and the gorillas before you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast at your lodge, you will proceed to Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi for another briefing about the does and don’ts when tracking the golden monkey after which you proceed for the experience. You will spend an hour watch ing and studying their behavior once you sight them. At the end of the adventure, transfer back to Kigali with lunch en-route for drop off at the airport for your flight to your next destination.
