Day by Day Overview

Early morning after breakfast we will pick you up from your accommodation in Moshi/Arusha and head to Tarangire National Park, known for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Its sparse vegetation makes it a beautiful and special location, where up to 300 elephants can be found, looking for underground streams in the dry riverbeds. The best visiting time is during the dry season between July to October. Migratory wildebeest, zebra and buffalo can also be seen crowding the shrinking lagoons. Here you will enjoy an afternoon game drive with a picnic lunch.

Overnight: Lake Manyara Hotel
Meal plan: All inclusive

After breakfast depart for Serengeti National Park via the beautiful landscapes of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Then head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and attracts wildlife representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive while heading to Lobo Wildlife Lodge for our overnight stay.

Overnight: Lobo Wildlife Lodge
Meal plan: All inclusive

After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park. The Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year round due to its abundance of resident animals. Specifically, the Seronera River Valley in the Central Serengeti is a ‘must see’ on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. Game viewing is at its best during the dry season (June – November) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopard.

Overnight: Seronera Wildlife Lodge
Meal plan: All inclusive

Early morning game drives en route from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stopover at Olduvai Gorge, with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here that the anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. Late afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge where you will have dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge
Meal plan: All inclusive

After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which includes lions, zebras, flocks of flamingos, elephants, giraffes, to name just a few. Ngorongoro is often referred as the eighth natural wonder, it has been listed as a UNESCO site which is considered the most beautiful and unique place in Africa where man and wildlife live together in one area, We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here. We will stop at a nice picnic area for our lunch break and there after we continue with game drive in the late afternoon. Transfer to Mto wa mbu village where we will spend an overnight at Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge and rest until the next day when we will head for a half day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.

Overnight: Lake Manyara Hotel
Meal plan: All inclusive

After an early breakfast, you will depart from the lodge for a half day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The park is well known for its spectacular tree climbing lions which spend most of their time spread out on the tree branches of acacias 6-7 meters from the ground as well as its tree climbing pythons. Alongside this park lies the Mto wa mbu ‘the river of mosquitoes’. This small village hosts almost all the tribes found in Tanzania believed to be more than 120 tribes dwelling in this small town and conducting different activities including woodcarving, painting and farming. After a game drive in the afternoon we will head back to the Mto wa Mbu village for a local lunch at local mamas then stretch our muscles by a short village walk of 1-2 hours to a point where your safari vehicles will be waiting for you. A late afternoon transfer takes you to Arusha domestic airport (or Kilimanjaro international airport) for your onward journey to Zanzibar Island.

This breathtaking marine ecosystem is famous for sightings of green turtles and dolphins that like to join you as you snorkel or dive while the seasonal migrating whale sharks and humpback whales announce their presence with an occasional spout of water. On your dive tour of Zanzibar, you will learn of the five main diving locales around Mnemba. Kichwani with its many shaded fish like leaf fish, frogfish and nudibranchs are perfect for both beginners and advance PADI divers, with a gentle incline of the coral wall until 30 meters. If you were to visit the Sand Banks while diving in Zanzibar, you could spot eagle rays, frogfish, batfish, seahorses and snappers among others. Then there is the Aquarium where you will find garden eels, white tip reef sharks, green turtles, groupers and surgeonfish to name a few.
