Day by Day Overview
After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up from the airport or your hotel in Arusha and proceed to Tarangire National Park for game viewing and a picnic lunch. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, which is the only source of water for the wild animals here during the dry season. The park is famous for its large numbers of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons. Later we will drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game driving and a picnic lunch. This small but scenic park covers an area of only 330 sq km (127 sq miles), of which up to 200 sq km (77 sq miles) is made up of the lake when water levels are high. Lake Manyara is an excellent place for bird watching and a good area to find elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, warthogs, buffalos and maybe even a legendary tree-climbing lion! At some point during your game drive, you should get off your vehicle at the hippo pool to stretch your legs and observe the hippos here. Later we will drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing and a picnic lunch. This park is one of the most densely crowded wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals. The crater is often called “Africa’s Eden” and is also considered the ‘Eighth Natural Wonder of the World’. A visit to this amazing place is the main draw for visitors coming to Tanzania and undoubtedly a world-class attraction!
Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze while lions sleep and laze in the sun nearby. At dawn, the endangered black rhino will return to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on the dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Maasai herd their cattle and goats over green pasture and through highland slopes. They live alongside the wildlife here as they have done for centuries. After the game drive, we will go to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will continue exploring Serengeti moving north to Lobo, Bologonya and Mara regions looking for the Great Migration. In these regions of North Serengeti, we can spot the Great Migration during summer (July to October), as the herds move north and aggregate before crossing the Mara River full of big crocodiles. After the game drive, we will go to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will dedicate the day to Central Serengeti for a game drive. Serengeti National Park is the most famous park of all Africa, with more than 15,000 square kilometers of savannah full of lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants and many other wild animals. After the game drive, we will go to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.
Today you can enjoy early morning game drives in Serengeti Park, then transfer to Seronera Airstrip where you will fly to Zanzibar. Our driver guide is waiting for you in Zanzibar for private transfer to your beach resort where you will have dinner and your overnight stay.
Relax and unwind in Zanzibar in the middle of untouched nature with crystal clear water. Zanzibar is the most popular beach destination in Tanzania. Besides the sea and the beaches, you can visit Stone Town, the spice plantations, snorkel, dive and canoe. You will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.
After breakfast, enjoy the last hours in Zanzibar. Our driver will pick you at the resort and drive you to the airport. On the way, you can stop in Stone Town and walk around while our driver takes care of your luggage. We will arrive in time at the airport for your check-in and you’ll catch the flight back home or to your next destination.
