Day Overview
Pick up from Diani beach or Mombasa for the 20-minute trip to Shimba Hills National Reserve. Enjoy an early morning game-viewing drive/trek at the Shimba Hills National Reserve. Here you will see the endangered sable antelope, elephants, giraffes, leopard, genet, civet cat, hyenas, waterbuck, bushpig, buffalo, bush baby, bushbuck, coastal black and white colobus, blue duiker, bush duiker, red duiker, greater galago, black-faced vervet monkey, sykes monkey, serval cat, black and red shrew and knob-bristled suni shrew.
After a wonderful drive, it’s time to take you to the Shimba Green Lodge located in Shimba Hills (Kwale), south coast of Mombasa Kenya. The lodge is situated on a hill crest viewing the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary on the northern foothills of the Shimba Hills National Reserve and just about 20 minutes (30km) from Diani Beach. Enjoy swimming, lunch, and relaxation overlooking the magnificent views. This is the best place to take a break from the beach. Late afternoon after the sundowner departs the facility for your Diani residence or hotel.
